1960년대 중반에 태어난 내 어린 시절의 정서는 '번안'된 것들에서 유래한다. 트윈 폴리오가 불렀던 '사랑의 기쁨'과 '웨딩케익'들이 비지스의 원곡 '메사츄세스'보다 훨씬 먼저 귀에 가슴에 각인되어 최초의 정서로 기능했다. 어린 시절부터 대학에 들어가서 불렀던 노래들은 무의식 중에 툭툭 지금껏 입속을 맴도는데, 그런 노래들을 굳이 따져보면 상당 부분은 번안곡이 차지한다. 아마도, 번안의 역사를 거슬러 올라가는 일은 곧 그 곡이 번안 될 때의 문화와 역사를 함께 찾아 가는 일이 될 것이다. 마음의 고향을 찾아가는 여정처럼 그 번안의 원류를 거슬러 올라가고자 한다.

The emotions of my childhood, born in the mid-1960s, come from 're-redified' things. 'The Joy of Love' and 'Wedding Cake' sung by Twin Folio were imprinted in the ear and chest much before the original song 'Mesachuse' of Biz' and functioned as the first emotion. The songs I've been singing since I was a child have been in my mouth unconsciously, and if you look at such songs, most of them are made up. Perhaps, going back to the history of the draft will be to find the culture and history together when the song was drafted. I want to go back to the source of the world like a journey to find the hometown of the heart.
